I have already written an ode to the Eee PC S101, including my fervent wish that it was available in pink. Well, just in time for Christmas, my wish has come true! Sort of. This pink S101 was just released for Japan, and is apparently also available in Taiwan. As long as you don’t mind a combination of English and Chinese characters on the keyboard, you can find them on eBay for $699, the same price as the other 16GB S101s. This is a Linux model, though I’ve been unable to determine what flavor — is it the usual Xandros, or maybe Ubuntu?
The keyboard isn’t pink, nor is the bezel around the screen, but everything else is, including the trackpad. And it’s a nice pink, not a cheesy Barbie pink like the Dell Mini. Without further ado, here’s what she looks like:
