I’ve had a love affair with Balenciaga bags for about a year now. I’ve had several different sizes and shapes over that time, but the City seems to work best for me.
In the photos above, the one on the left is classic black. I used to think, Balenciaga makes so many different, beautiful colors — why get basic black? But then I got this bag and it completely changed my mind. I can take this anywhere, and always feel smart and cool carrying it. I took it to a business meeting last week, and I could take it for a night out just as easily. Bal black rocks.
The pic on the right is a new color for 2007, Violet. It is brighter and more grapey than the Eggplant color from 2004, and much more purple than Ink from 2006. The real character of the color comes out in the sunlight — it is simply breathtaking. There’s no way to capture this in photos, you’ll just have to take my word for it. The texture of the lambskin along with its subtle shine makes for a deep, juicy purple that almost glows from within, and makes me feel fabulous just looking at it.
