Last Saturday I was at Saks admiring the Miu Miu Coffers, and I happened upon this great satchel adorned with chunky leather bows on the sides. I didn’t get it, but it was so beautiful that I couldn’t stop thinking about it and went all the way back there on Sunday to pick one up. They had this style in a 4-season light-brown-sugar color, and in ivory. The ivory is absolutely stunning in person, but it’s definitely just a summer bag. I’m notoriously bad with light-colored bags, and I’d always be worried about where I put it down, so I reluctantly passed on the pristine ivory in favor of the light brown. 
This is my first Miu Miu bag, and I’m really delighted. Great size, gorgeous style, excellent quality thick/soft leather, smells yummy…and it has bows! The handle drop is exactly right for carrying on the crook of my arm, and the detachable shoulder strap is long enough to wear crossbody, which I love (when I wear it on my shoulder, the bag slouches nicely at my hip). The fit & finish are impeccable. At about 14″ wide x 10″ tall x 6″ deep, it’s a bigger bag than I usually wear, but it’s surprisingly lightweight and un-bulky for such substantial leather. The bow satchel would be fabulous for travel, and will be great for taking lots of stuff to work. I love the fold-over top, plus the secure zipper for those times when you need one. I normally prefer silver hardware to gold, but the gold hardware on this bag is subtle rather than super-shiny.
Did I mention that it has bows? It’s a sweet, girly-but-not-prissy touch on an otherwise sturdy and practical bag. Perfect!
The bow satchel can be hard to find online, and the Saks website has them only intermittently. Right now they are available in ivory at Neiman Marcus and in ivory or black (for a higher price) at Styledrops.

This was more than three years ago, so I’m not sure, but I think it was around $1200 at the time. You may be able to find one gently used on eBay, but be careful of fake bags. Ask the experts if you have any questions about authenticity.
